Unisong
About
In response to communal grief, rage and heartbreak in the wake of the 2024 election, Deja Belle and Tessie Castillo (singer, song writer, song circle leader) teamed up to create Unisong, a series of guided song circles designed to connect, inspire and facilitate the healing process. Enjoyable and accessible to beginner and experienced singers alike, each workshop is lovingly woven from a rich tapestry of musical history, including classic Negro spirituals, soul-inspired beats, resistance chants, and heart medicine songs.
We provide monthly song circles in Siler City, NC on 1st Thursdays and Durham, NC on 4th Thursdays, in addition to special events throughout the Triangle area and Piedmont Triad.

Work with Us
We also facilitate song circles in partnership with various local organizations including: schools, senior centers, support groups for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other non-profits.
